Blacufo, those are increadible photos. Two of them are showing Brumbach '42 Ford by Barris. And so far I have only been able to find one other photo of that car. (in one of Andy Southards books)

Any change you could scan them a little bigger so that we can really enjoy these fantastic photos.

(enlarged scans... but not really to sharp.)

Car in the background, the front is Ralph Testa's convertible also by Barris)

Doug, It was pearl chartruese with a chartruese metalflake top. It was a '67 that I painted in the fall of '66...I bought it as soon as they went on sale....$3150.

  8. Tridents show 62-3.jpg Tridents show 62.jpg Tridents show 62-2.jpg Tridents show 62-2.jpg [/ATTACH] These are from the Tridents (Garry Canning's old car club) show in June 62. This was the first showing of the roadster with the Junior paint. The car was at Junior's when I crashed the Stude. I was in the hospital, and my Dad and my two best buddies assembled the car and took it to the show for me. It was the first car show at the then new LA Sports Arena. The sign was painted by another one of my pals, Denny Jones, when he was just starting his business. Car's gone, but the sign is still in my garage. Wish it was the other way around. :(

If you have the original pics for these, can you read any details on the show-board for the green 28/29 Highboy ?

It looks like an Algon injected SBC to me, but can't be sure.

that photo b&w of what looks like a 53-54 olds. with the kustoms plak on it is a barris car, thats him on left, and also looks to be a young gene winfield at rear left.

  16. In the picture of the Olds, my guess is George Barris at the front, Jack Stewart in the middle, and R. petersen, Hotrod publisher, at the rear.

Perhaps one of the guys is Jim Skonzakis since it is his car. Barris built the 49 Buick for Jim.

Unfinished car and behind the Buick is Jack Steward's 41 Ford.

    Great lines....

Sorry, slightly OT but note Royalshifter's 1967 pic below. Oakland was always known for a very large display of bikes. Note the bikes by the snack bar door in the back of the picture. Pretty mild bikes, one shows a sissy bar and the one on the right looks like it has a mildly extended front end.

Here is a pic from 1968 or 1969, right by the same snack bar door. Look at how the bikes have changed in that short time.

  19. The "Large father" big daddy Roth had ALOT to do with defining this style.

  20. Is 1973 vintage? :)

We showed the HEMI32 coupe at the 25th Grand National Roadster Show:

Congrats on the wins. Looks like your HEMI32 has quite a history. I hope you still own it.

    Damn, check out those threads!
Great post, I especially dig the program covers.

Looks like it at first glance... but its not. Miss Elegance was a Hard-Top and this is a sedan. Side trim is same, but positioned different.

Yeah, I noticed that too when I doublechecked, I just saw the sidetrim and thought of that car right away
