I'm sorry my free will got in the way, I was hoping for something a bit more "traditionally" wild. (not a 70's thread)

There are (IMO) about a hand full of real tasteful ones at this point in time on this post.
If some of you guy's love it great!

Bad Bob that's some real nice automotive porn, an that blue 54' chevy truck is pretty cool

The "Tiki" is bordering on a lack of taste. But I LOVE it anyway. Very cool.

Not too wild, but it's candy and flake together.

I'm pretty secure in my manhood, so I can say this. That purple is sweet and the lace is dead nuts on!

Oh sweet man i'm glad you posted that. Travis (Tuki) is the one who striped my 37 and someday i'll have him do my whole car. Got any pictures of that orange and purple 59 elcamino he did? He had a nice lace pattern on the roof, but i misplaced my photos:(

  17. Best part of this car, IMO, is the headliner panel, if it is still in there. Gold Digging Wench? Did your son buy that car from a guy in the High Desert?

I LOVE this thread! I briefly considered ditching the flames on my Fairlane for a more understated look (I have a separate thread about this), but some of these are inspiring. Even the ones that are not my "style" are still great in their creativity. Reminds me of a documentary I saw last weekend about a low rider club in LA - some of the paint schemes on those rides were stunning.

I may just re-paint my flames using some sparkle paint or do a crazy scallops all-over scheme after I nose, deck and shave.

I LOVE Eryk's car. It is one of my favorite all time Kustoms out there! It was a treat to see it in person!

A friend took a picture of that last year at Viva. From what I understand they DA the flames into the metal then candy over it, correct?

So what is the effect when you lay flake over candy? I have a little custom Falcon Ranchero that has candy paint. There are a few places that need touched up but I'm not up for repainting the car nor do I know what the candy combo was to get to that color. I've thought about doing some flake over candy but I didn't know how it would turn out. Then again maybe I would have to lay another layer of candy over the flake...

So the Gypsy Rose that exists now and was on display at the Petersen is the second one, not the original? Tinman tried to tell me that at the Round Up but I just wouldn't hear of it! :D

Thats what it looked like to me. I just don't know how someone could possibly do that with a DA or a grinder. I tried to find the owner this year at Viva to no avail. I really wanted to find out more. The suck part is just like clear over bare metal won't hold up very long, neither will this. (Its the same thing)

Flake normally goes under candy. For instance, Nick's is a silver base, silver flake with red candy as a negative on the scallops. Thats what most do. The candy just tints the flake darker and deeper the more coats you put on.

    I love this thread!

actually, poopstains are nasty... i think homeboy is just confused?

  25. He did do that by hand with a DA. They DA'ed the whole thing evenly, then did the design after that. And it's been done for at least 5 or 6 years and still looks that good. He lives in my area and I have seen it several times at the local cruise night.

menacekustoms. Bob actually gave that car to his son and yes, it does have that art work-saying on the headliner. KNUX!

  27. Nope...I bought it from Todd Zimmerman(fordole500)in Hesperia. And yes the headliner is still there...
