I was walking around the Good Guys Pleasanton show last month with a good friend, admiring a really beautiful 1939 Ford DeLuxe coupe parked right next to 1940 coupe. Sure, the bodies are the essentially the same, but quite a bit changed in that year:...

I've always liked the '40 deluxe the best... but then again... I'm biased.

It would be the 40 deluxe for me. Why?....things I prefer over the 39 are, the dash, the tail lights, the cowl mounted windshield wipers, the column shift.

I like them both very much but the 1940 Ford deluxe would be my 1st choice.

My first choice would be the '39. My Dad had one with a blown flathead back in '50.

Post side by side photos of '39 & '40 Convertibles and see how much better the '39 looks. I just think the '39 is much nicer. Bob

if the 39 had the 40 dash it would be perfect. I like the pop out windshield.
