Robert was a banker in Cleveland, Ohio in 1964... And it was a good year for him. So much so, in fact, that he decided to buy his and hers Rivieras for both him and his wife - Lauren. You're right, they were genius's, but you do a most excellent job on your writing too.
That scarf flying out the window made me think of Isadora Duncan..... |

Nice write up.
I enjoyed watching that commercial. It's got you good this time, right?

Great commercial, and I love your last paragraph, Ryan... "Robert took notice of nature." Yes, indeed!
And of course in '65 Buick would be right there with the perfect wagon...

Sweet Nancy was so fancy
To get into her pantry Had to be the aristocracy The members that she toyed with At her city club Were something in diplomacy So we put her on the hit list Of a common cunning linguist A master of many tongues And now she eases gently From her Austin to her Bentley Suddenly she feels so young I can't deny it With that smile on her face It's not the kill It's the thrill of the chase |

I bought a 65 Rivi when i was 17, it was kinda a pos, but not super bad, it looked good on the outside but had hidden rust, i only paid $500 for it,i had to redo all the brakes and a few other things, it was gold outside and if i remember right tan inside, it had the 401 and st400, man that sucker would go, it was the first car i had the would get second gear rubber, and huge burnouts, i loved that car, it was just such a neat car, since then ive had 4 more, 2 parts cars and 2 other decent ones, dunno why i didnt keep one, i guess i always saw something different on the horizon i liked better.

Poor Lauren...she's only slightly more intelligent than an Irish Setter. Hahahaha
Fortunately for Lauren, with Robert's shrewd reasoning, he chose her over the dog. |

After a little change in his pocket from selling the Jockey, the countdown to Ryan buying the Riviera he has been lusting over (and deserves) begins in 3...2...1...

My Dad had a '63 Riv when I was a kid, like maybe 6 years old but that car made a lasting impression on me. Pale creme/yellow with a light leather interior. When my (much older) brother came back from Viet Nam Dad handed him a set of keys and told him to use the pickup to get around. Then said "No, wait: those are the keys to the Riv. Welcome back, the car is yours". Man, I need to find some pictures and get them scanned...
