Hi all - sorry for tardy intro.
I have returned to the cars that started me in this great lifestyle of historic cars and proper hot rods in particular My main interests are mid 30s to late 40s Fords. I recently bought a really nice and clean 41 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe with its original body panels and engine - gearbox. I am in process of getting her back to proper shape. This includes fitting some of the period hop-up parts on the car, original Hexagon Tools twin carb intake with Stromberg 97s, yellow lens fog lamps on period mounts, dual exhaust, and Appleton spot. That’s all that will done to the old girl - nice and simple. The car does have some newer Lincoln seats mounted – which will be 86ed after the driving season - but with help from some HAMBrs I secured a set of proper bench seats and will redo these in a period style. My family is rooted in Ford Motor Company from my Grandpa on up - he actually helped work on the 41 Fords prior to WWII. Over the last 25 years I started in early Mustangs (65-66) both show cars and historic road race Mustangs. I then moved to historic racing British sport cars where I learned a lot about careful prep and period correct restorations, then had a strong move to get back to my first interests ( kinda returning to where I started ) - which brings me to my 41 Ford. This is a great group and valuable source of information and general related news. I have been impressed with the HAMB - and consider the forum one of the best I have had the pleasure of participating in. Best to all, John Ruth Mi Last edited by 41FordSuperDeluxe; 06-29-2012 at 11:52 AM. |
