A friend who was moving away from here gave me a box of old taillights. There were some that looked like a huge version of a 59 Caddy taillight. I believe they were used on ambulances. I even think I remember seeing them on some customs, ata least back in the 80's. Anyone know for sure what they are, and any pics of them on a Kustom?

Yeah, squirrel, that's it!
Thanks for the info,Ted, BLUDICE, I didn't think of putting them in a 56 Olds. I guess 53-4 Ford would be another good , easy swap. Might be worth keeping!

Hey Mark,
That looks like a 1970 Cadillac ambulance as built by Superior. Maybe the professional car guys would know, or want them? " Humpty Dumpty was pushed " |

If they are good custom pieces, I'll keep'em! If not, I'll get rid of them. I don't know if they were used "back in the day" of whether it was more of a "that's the way we thought they did it in the 50"s, in the 80's" deal. I'm pretty sure they were used similar to the 59 Caddy's lights on some cars.
Anyone know how far back they were used?

You could use them on a 60's custom and be period correct.

I think my buddy stashed some of those away when he scrapped the ambulance that my 500 Cad engine came out of. Those might look ok on large size car if they were tunneled in so they didn't stick out so far.

Kelly Puckett used a set on his 60 cadillac custom. They looked great on it.

Many years ago, I used 4 of them to replace the centers on my '57 Caddy Hubcaps installed on a Lowered '70 Catalina......
They can be pretty useful.....Use your imagination.......BTW, mine came from the roof of a friends 1961 Pontiac Ambulance....
