did'nt see anybody show up yet so i'll lead er off with a sign i did for buddy's slot car shop

anybody vend art or pinstriping at shows? i've been vending about four years and still have yet to come up with a better than cheesy display.
i always do pretty well, usually thrown in with the other venders and swap meet guys. i wondered how everybody else's stands look like and the art they sell, post pix please, i know there is talent at these events.

I vend at 5-10 events a year and I use gridwalls to show my stuff...cheap easy and versatile. Here is where I get mine...

A. Use the grid walls as suggested. Get the artwork vertical. Laying it flat is a sure way to get people to walk straight past your stuff.

B. I can't work out why the vendors stand under cover while the customer has to stand out in the heat or rain. I prefer to get them undercover with my stuff (I sell rod & custom zines).

C. Color. Your stand needs to grab people from a few car lengths away.

D. Dress tidy (i.e. not like a complete ratbag!) and don't wear sunglasses.

Good! I did that concept for one guy here in Finland. Actual car is not chopped yet an it has 54 front bumper.

Busy week...here is a new painting I just got finished. 11x17 1shot and acrylic on clayboard..."Hasta Muerte" (...till death)



and here is a new tshirt that I'll have done for Ink and Iron in a few weeks..."Los Compadres Muertos" (friends till death)

Great stuff everyone! Here is my contribution this week. A couple of new laser cut HAMB signs. The V8 HAMB was inspired from a lockwoodkustoms welded piece in an art show back in March. The other is a the HAMB logo for hanging above my drawing table for inspiration.

Been doing some OT artwork lately so nothing to contribute to the art show, sorry.
As far as setup I use pro panels. A bit pricey but you can get small sections that fit together
and they can fit in the trunk of your car. So you don't need a van to move something that is 6 feet long.
Sorry about the pic but it is the only one I have of my setup.
Things will be different for next year though, but the panels will stay.
I try to not talk to people with my glasses on.
This was at the 2008 Lonestar Roundup.

Here's a car I finished about an hour ago.He drove it down from Midland(about 200 mi.)with open plugs!Air drying it now on US23 and trying to make it home before it rains.Flattened green w/black frame and plenty of louvers.Done in ivory and medium green.

man your artwork is awesome! i love it, but it should be Hasta La Muerte..
