This marks the one one single greatest loss to hot rodding in its entire history. This man affected so many people in so many ways it cannot be grasped in a month of concentrated thinking. Truly sad, and must be remembered by all who ever enjoyed a hot rod magazine or a day at a drag race- just as a start. RIP Wally, hero of the rodding world

Been a tough year for Hot Rodders. First the loss of Robert Petersen and now Wally Parks. The " Greatest Generation " is passing on. Thank for everything you did to help Hot Rodding and Drag Racing. GODSPEED WALLY.

Lets keep the fire lit for the next generations and show them the way it was, the way it is, and the way its going to be.

It's my firm belief, that the only thing that died was Mr. Parks "Earth Suit". His spirit (soul) lives on in place we'll see some place. That place had a few thousand of his best buddies waiting to welcome him in to a place of honor, he earned. Think of how many people he saved from death and harm by "organizing" sanctioned, safe, Drag Racing. It's hard to count the vision and hope he gave to kids looking for an outlet to use thier imagination, building skills, and prepare them for their future. We add to his passing with a solid "Job Well Done"

Sad to hear, Wally, my dad, and a number of others were the founding members of the local Dust Devils car club.....a plaque I still run in my truck today. Wally did so much for this passion we have. Godspeed Wally.

Wally Parks lived a long life and did many, many exceptional things for hot rodding and drag racing. He will be missed, but we should all be so lucky to have accomplished as much as he did by the time we punch out.
Rest in peace.
