As pitiful as that car sounds, I would have left it home. Sounds like it had bad gas or was out of time.

I've still got to go with a Pratt 2800, above 45" MAP with the water on, preferably with ejector stacks. :D

Only way it's better is if it's all 4. ;)

to me any motor that has been modified ,
from single thumpers to Honda CBX 6cyl at 12000 RPms
and from built 4 cyls to big blocks . I have to admit I like them all when they can snap the throttle and rev to the skies

Probably not a contender for the most awesome sounding engine ever, but here is 30 seconds worth of a flathead Hercules six cylinder purring away just for comparison.

Blown 540" BBC, 12.6-1 C/R with 14-71 Littlefield. It's in a 63 Vette, that's HAMB friendly right?????? Anyway, it sounds good.

  15. That's pretty amazing. I always wondered why people seldom reveal the times they run.

Falfa's black '55---also the best sound effects from a car movie. Love a BBC makin' power.

  19. American Graffiti was set in '62. No BBC until '65(unless you are talking W motor? I don't remember mention of the power plant in Falfa's car). I know when the car was in Two Lane Blacktop it actually showed a BBC when the nose was flipped, and was mentioned by the characters in the story.

Gets my vote also. Used to have one in a 56 chevy, and I would let out the clutch, let off the gas and let it lope my car through the local drive-ins. Man did I get the looks. Guys would run over and try to open my hood, as soon as I parked the car. Learned after the 1st time, to lock my hood down. Another engine I loved the sound of was always the flathead with some short pipes.

My 383 mopar with 9 inches of extension on the headers sounds pretty good also.
