Aside from our own H.A.M.B. Drags, there are a few other drag races in the US that really get me going. The first will be obvious to some of you... The Day of The Drags is held at what many think is the most gorgeous track in the country - Little Riv... <BR><BR>To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
Little River is a great place, I'm looking forward to this! http://www.littleriverdragway.net/index.html http://hechointexas.blogspot.com/2009/01/little-river-dragstrip.html
Gonna add that to our travel list, to visit TEXAS! Daisy May and I are all ready for the Jalopy Showdown. And dont forget Dover Dragstrip Nostalgia Drags @ Island Dragway Oct 18! Be There! Slim
I imagine the pilot is just changing his focus from the flagman to where his car is on the track. With that much engine blocking your view do you concentrate on just one edge or if you are somewhere between the stripes when going down the track? Having never even driven on a strip that must just be an insane rush keeping it straight and fast at the same time. -Scrump
Lots of buzz at Maple Grove last week about JS Drags. Should be a good turn out. Same weekend as Fall Carlisle so you can hit both.
Yes and no,that is I loved drags at the strip when in Jr.& Highschool, but it got boring after I started to run Oval track stock races. Still enjoy going to the dargs, if there is no oval track races around.
I would kill to go to the Jalopy Showdown... All of those shows that those guys put on look like a blast.
It's hard to see in these old B&W photos, but he may have "turned on" the "red flag" with this wheels-up launch.
I hope our event at Eagle Field makes your list someday Ryan. The event will feature DIRT pits and Flag Starts! Rocky
Offer still stands, get to cleveland and I will get you the rest of the way...and if we can convince the track, a ride in the 1/4....
You look down the sides as best you can and watch the lines. Once you get used to not seeing out front, you focus more on the car and the engine, not worrying about where the car is going. Your seat will tell you if you get sideways.
We have not missed a Showdown drags yet... We NEVER intend to...Its simply the best vibe, best track, best little valley in our season, We will only keep working to bring better, faster, and MORE cars in tow... Count on it! Everyone who comes to these is straight BITTEN! You'll never want to miss one... It has a very special "feel", I guess... Its non-chalance rocks... I'll most likely be ( at this rate, anyway, unless I get a few things accomplished this week...) car-less, this year, ya' know what? I still won't miss it for the world!
