  3. I heard a few years ago that Foulk's "Finagler" had been found and was undergoing a restoration. Wish I could find Vanderwoude's Charger III "Flying Dutchman"!

Eddie Sanzo's Willys was a hard runner out of the Vitar stable. The car is still around too. I think it's called the "Islander".

What made the Finagler unique was that it was competetive on the local injected circuit despite its power plant being but a little 289

  14. Island Dragway '67. I apologize for the quality of the pictures. They are converted slides. I believe the Falcon is Pete Gardner.

  17. I believe this to be Andy Boeye's digger at the "Patch" in '67. Andy is an inductee of the Drag Race Hall of Fame. Just a down-right nice guy with unsurpassed knowledge of the sport and how to make things go fast!

Good shots Bob, thanks for sharing them. The 427 Fairlane is the Downing & Ryan car. Jim Ryan, a friend just passed away a few weeks ago of a massive heart attack. A great guy, he was in the midst building a replica of this car at the time of his passing.
I beliebe the green and white A990 Plymouth is Bob Brown.

  20. Joel,
That is very sad news about Jim Ryan.
I wish I had taken more (and better quality) pictures back then. That old instamatic just wasn't up to the chore.

That looks like a stock head by looking at the valvecover(stock chromed) and possibly Hilborne injection or Algon?

I am with you on that one. The Boss head would have had the intake and exhaust ports on the opposite sides of the head. I guess that this was an earlier version of the car.
