I wonder if this is the same car. Looks very similar. This pic is from Conn Dragway.

Hey Willysrule, you're right! It is the same. That photo is from Charles Milikan's site of Connecticut Dragway photos. He also has another one on there of Angie about to race the Beeline Willys. Charles is also a good guy.

Really..... Did NOT know that orange Willys was once Kiwi Kev's.

In July we visited my wife's son in LA ..... while we were there we were able to visit with Kevin.

Could have spent hours (make that days) talking hot rods and looking at the awesome collection of hod rod memorabilia he has collected & made over the years.

So glad to see Kevin is being recognized for all the years of "true hot rodding" he has been doing both in his backyard garage & on the streets "Hot Rod Heaven".

Thanks again Mr. Low Buck !!!!!

Less than 6 months ago I punched up Willys on the craigslist search engine for the S.F. bay area and a cherry p/u body w/doors and new fiberglass front end came up. $950.00 in San Jose. It was a 1941 Willys p/u in epoxy primer with a little rust in the door bottoms. I figure it was already gone so I told a friend about it. After about 10 calls to the owner he went down and picked it up. I saw it before he sold it.It was nice!!!!. Yep there still out their still out there!!!!

That's what the bottom side of a Gasser should look like.

It's a cool video, wheels lifting at each gear shift. I'd love to see the car in person!

This is just such a fantastic thread. It makes me realise that not only was I born at the wrong time, but also in the wrong country.

Here in the UK there aren't many steel Willys, so the only option for us with Willysitis is to build 'glass cars. At the moment here there are enough 'glass cars in build to have our own race series. At least mine is box frame, gennie 40's 'I' beam on parallel leaf springs and ladder bar rear. Can't afford a blown hemi so a 472 Ford will have to do for the time being.

Thanks to all who have posted info and pics on this thread, it is inspirational!

Here is a piece of history that some of us willys guys have never had the opportunity to see. Especially me living in wonderful Wyoming. LOL

This was sent out yesterday from one of the West Coast Willys Club members.

Just watch the first 40 seconds [after the 15 second commercial].
This was filmed THIS weekend at Indy!

    I'm not sure
who is driving the Stone, Woods & Cook car, but that is Bones
driving the Big John Mazmanian car.
