Yes! But I don't recall the ad or song. I tried to find a vintage photo of one to post before Christmas, but never found one. There's a neat clip of a tv commercial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDMQPwE4unw Notice it says sold in food markets only. About the time this product came out, our local food store, an A&P, carried a knock-off and that's what I got under the tree.

    Yes, that's my Mom.
She passed away in 1978, year I got married.
The manger was actually at my grandmothers house.

I would love to have that one today, it was huge!
My uncle got that, or threw it away, or sold it, I don't know.

Such a simpler time, fun toys.
Today, my grandkids got WII games.

Les-I still have a fond memories of Dinky Toys in the 1950's.I would get one when we would go to Downtown Detroit Hudson's,12th floor was the toy department. They had a large glass counter and display case of full Dinky Toys. They were the only store i remember in Detroit that sold them as they were somewhat expensive.

I still have fond memories of the toy department in Rikes department store in downtown Dayton and looking at all the toys that was in there,I remember the big train set they had and it was the same brand that I had (Marklin) and wanted to buy stuff for it but even back in the 70s was very expensive.

Dinky Toys of that year were my era. Models of American cars I had included a Hudson Commodore, '49 Ford and a Studebaker Land Cruiser

I put the headers on the replica in 1977. It was still a pain in the ass with my 19 year old hands.
