I ran my B/G '55 Chevy in NoCal in the early & mid '70s. (Fremont, Sacramento, Vaca Valley, Redding) Ran into Bob Bunker, Leroy "Mighty Mouse" Philson often. They, along with Kenny Dondero (Panella Trucking Anglia) were my heroes. It was all four speeds back then. Slick shifters, they were.

Indy 1979 (25th anv) I don't remember Terry Earwood in the SS/CA 65 car at Indy that year. I remember it being the on an open ramp truck ( 70s Chevy ) but I can't think of the driver's name.

Question from Computer Stupid: Why are there so many pics with " This image or video has been moved or deleted"?

Sorory but that place is a subdrivsion now. The left overs of the track have been long gone for 10-15 years now. I used to hear them rails run as a little boy in my front yard about 8 miles away. I could never get my dad to take me.

Because a lot are posted through a host storage site, like photobucket or imageshack. You are only allowed so much storage space and posts per month. So if you fill up your storage you have to dump it to add more pictures. You really have to check this every few days to catch all the pictures.

Thanks for the update. I haven't been down there since we raced there in the '60s / early '70s. Its sad that so many places have been destroyed. Some call it progress, I'm not so sure on that.

  28. The "quality" of your pictuers is what makes them cool. I like old stuff. :D
