I am a newbie on the friday art show. I have been waiting on something like this all my life. Here are some concepts and some other stuff..... The first car was when you think about the Golden Submarine car too much. The GMC is Gil and Al Ayala's shop truck, I imagined it in color. The belly tank is the Markely Bros. tank that I just finished for Scot Hamilton( Dreamsoflegends.com). He has a new 4 dvd set coming out soon, old footage of dry lakes, drags, bonneville, bikes, etc.He wanted the pencil style. Also , I included some rough sketches of how I put stuff together befor I come up with a final concept. oh , and also included is one of my favorites of Doane Spencers Deuce running down the road with Dick Flints Model A roadster. They left there headlights off and are probably up to no good. Dick wore his Hop-Up t-shirt.It all started off with me trying to just draw a good 32 highboy and turned into this. I've been drawing since I was 5 years old ( around 1965) when my Granny would let me trace the cars in the old Hot Rod books that my uncles would leave out. Never been the same since. Also, I love everybodys stuff, I dont care what it is , I love it.
I got to go to work , so this is all I can do today. Old ALBATA club car, you might recongnize it. Ike Iacono's GMC rail doing a out of control burnout, and a T at the dry lakes. All of these are pen & ink.I drew them a while back.
I saw a concept drawing on one of these Metro verts a long time ago in a mag, Don't remember where. I do remember it had front and rear wheelwells rounded out and a teal kinda water splash painjob, It was amazing what a difference the rounded wheelwells made
Here is what you could do to the lowly 42-48 Chevy Fleetmaster 4-door. I have this thing all planned out using front wheel drive and all so you could have a flat floor to haul a bike or something. Also, a Model A with some britches on, old picture. And a little cheesecake that I drew back in 1989.
A guy down the road had a 64 Chevrolet truck for sale. Combine that with seeing a Monogram Orange Crate go for about 50 dollars on E-Bay, a few recreational substances, and pretty soon I am drawing this monster. Could have a 63 Vette front end or a narrowed down 60 chevy truck hood. I usually draw this junk at work when I dont want to sand any more bondo.
Wow Ryan, you really started something here. Ya'll are amazing. I can't sign my name worth a shit let alone draw like this. Excellent work guys!
Jeff, some great work there (color blending, shading etc....) not sure how to official call it. that top one (blown coupe) is how Tudor should be building his 5 window
Jeffe, Your art stylings es muy suavecito!! Aye aye aye!!! (sorry to all my spanish speaking friends)
I'm looking at old posts and bringing 2 or three back to the top simply cuz they deserve it... Don't try this at home.
My favorite is GaryC.'s little red cabover with the Hilborn-ed Hemi in the bed! That's the inspiration for my #2 project!
