Terraplanes, Hudsons, and Essexes!!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by patrick66, Jul 14, 2008.

  1. OK, I know there are a few HAMB'ers that have the fine, fine automobiles and trucks that the Hudson Motor Car Company produced from 1909 - 1957. Let's see 'em!

Here is my '37 Terraplane Model 71 Brougham, with a factory 212 Six and 3-speed with a later Hudson overdrive. I'm going to have the manifold split soon and add a set of dual exhausts with Smithy's. There is a '36 in Denver that has this set-up and sounds friggin' amazing!

  2. Does yours have a pullout pickup box in the trunk?

  3. No, that was only available in a coupe body. The trunk lid opened up, and the bed could be slid out to three different positions. Mine has the smooth, flat deck lid.

My Dad had a 37 (Hudson not Terraplane) with an "electric hand" on the column. I'll have to dig up a picture. My younger brother is still pissed my dad sold it ( he came in the hospital in it)

Wish I took a picture..but maybe one of my buddies did. Car Show Saturday night here in Tucson.

A 37 Terraplane pickup..beautifully restored. The owner is about 70..it was his grandads work truck..then his Dad's..then his. He used to drive it in High School. Has been in his family since new.
Now it is restored..dark blue with black fenders

Skirts on a pickup..with really beautiful Terraplane emblems on them.

The Hudson National are coming up in Marlboro Mass July 22-27. You should try to connect with someone from the Hudson Club on www.classiccar.com in the Hudson forum. I will post a flyer for the National as soon as I can find one

I tried to start a Hudson "Social Group" here in the groups section, but I was the only member for about a week...then I deleted the group. I can start another group if y'all are interested. I was going to put up some pics of custom Hudsons...I have hundreds.

thekid49 - NICE. Where did you find an adapter to mount your 308 to a Muncie 4-speed? I've got a 308 I plan on running in my coupe, but the cork clutch disk just doesn't float my boat.

HudsonCustom - When I saw all these Hudson sisters grouped together, I thought I'd like to add you guys to my friends list - but a group might work even better ... as long as the long lost bastard Essex were included! ;)
