    Very neat! Thanks for posting
I like his shading and the feel of motion he used.

I worked at AMC back in 1972 and Dick Teague was the styling VP. He had many classic cars and would drive them to work weather permitting. There was a parking garage under the front of the building on Plymouth road where his car collection was stored. We actually prep a 1911 Hudson for him for a cross country race. He had a passion for the old classics and many were race cars in his collection.

Excellent Tattoo subjects indeed! (unless you hate 'em :D.)

  13. I do prefer Gus Maanum's Art but Dick Teague's sketches have a dirty, earthy feel to them, you can imagine being on the lakes with the dust flying up.

  15. I love the underslung. Looks like the Chrisman #25. *Oh, Karl Orr, thanks Jimmy.
He did a good job at AMC with little dough.

I once met Dick Teague at an Antique Toy show in Detroit many years ago. (He was a big toy collector as well as a car collector) I struck up a conversation by telling him that I had a copy of this book with his sketches and how much I valued it.

He readily remembered the book and his comment that stuck with me all these years was,"You know what ? I never received my pay for that project !"

Real roots of rodding - it don't get no more traditional than that.

Found a framed Dick Teague print in an out of the way antique shop near Branson, Missouri. Paid all of $5.00 for it!

  22. Can someone help me out here. Did Dick have a son named Arnold. I new a Arnold Teague from San Luis Obispo, Ca. that owned Teague's Machine Shop, I grew up in Pismo Beach and we all used to build dune buggie's and play at Oceano Dunes, Dan and Evelynn Tallman, Don and Tiny Snell, Gene Blanchard were a few of us that used to meet and play in the dunes. My Dad, Don McClure was the Vice President of the Dune Riders Organization for awhile... Wondering if Arnold was related to Dick Teague. Arnold was a master of fabrication... Thanks Ted McClure [email protected]
