Uh...Jesse...that's a photo of an ACTUAL U-Boat...with ACTUAL Nazis...DURRING the war. The comparison you're trying to make is a little ridiculous, homie. But I get your point. People shouldn't be so sensitive. My brother-in-law collects Nazi relics. He gave me a flask with an SS insigna. It's dope. But I don't display it on my coffee table. Question about GARAGE 15: Did the girl on the cover know who 7 Seconds is? I'm assuming it was for the drag strip theme, but you never know.
There's a word that, 60 years ago, also had a different meaning. The Nazis didn't pervert this word, but, like the good ol' swastika, its meaning has been co-opted and changed forever. But for those who want to pretend that time and events and groups of people can't irrevocably change anything, start using the word, 'gay' to describe your festive night out with the guys.
I have to agree with Bad Bob, the bashing gets real old, real fast. To think that this post started with a guy, Stoner, excited about the next issue of his hard work coming out and it ends up like it did, is a shame.
if talking about shit like this is the highlight of this mag......god help it. Gooz, your car looks great, just sorry it is mixed in with all this shit. You have a classy ride and the CAR people notice that. I'm German, Irish, and Mexican....does this mean I should hate myself!?!?!?! Drop it!
....I think we all need to embrace the fact that we are a bunch of Cracker-Ass-Cracker's.... I'm comfortable with it.... And so are most of my friends......
My stepfather was in the Navy for 30 years and acheived the rank of Master Chief. He knows more about military history and WWII than anyone I've ever met. He's a die hard Patriot and says the pledge of alliegiance every day and has more real Nazi shit than Germany. He collects it along with other historical memoribilia. Sweeping something under the carpet won't make it go away. Is it dangerous? Yes, Imagery and icons can be. But it is history none the less. I walk in that room and can't help but get consumed by history and how WWII impacted the world. This planet became a hell of a lot smaller in a few short years. And yes I'm a cracker-ass cracker.
Haha, Gooz. Dude, you're a little dark to be a cracker. I guess you could be a wheat cracker. Enough of this bullshit. CHECK OUT MY HOMIE'S CAR ON THE COVER GARAGE MAGAZINE. Fuckin Suicidal Tendencies article and everything! Go cop it!
A top shelf magazine for sure! I guess I'll pick-up a copy at the bookstore in the Home and Garden section. Thanks to all the folks at Garage HQs! I'd like to see an article on the Speed shops of Socal during the late 60's/70's (Super Shop; loved their radio commercial) Ken
I LOVED that issue of garage (#5 i think) with that fine ass black girl right there on the cover. I think that was the first "girls" issue. I think it's great that Garage shows all aspects of the life. Lets not forget that Jesse was the first person to put an ad with a black man in Easyrider. I really appreciate it since I'm a proud Venice whiteboy...with a half black son. Oh, and thanks for coming to Venice to shoot the cover. Venice originals is a great shop.
