here are some pics of the crown vic ranchero,,,i posted some pictures of her in primer a couple of weeks ago,,,,,since then, i have block sanded my ass off and gotten her ready to be painted (130 louvers are a bitch to sand by hand!!),,,a friend of mine painted it, and it came out nicer than i expected,,,,,,,,,,,,,,anyway, this will be my new daily driver/shop truck,,,,the body is a white with jade pearl,,,the pics do it no justice,,the roof is a red base with pearl that looks either blue or green depending on which angle you view it from,,,,,there is a pic fresh from the paint booth, and another with the chrome, tonneau, etc, etc put back on,,,,just needs to be lowered now,,,,,,my former shop truck is for sale (see classifieds)......

Boy, you don't fuck around, do you? How much crack do you have to smoke to work that fast?

Seriously, it looks great, as does your other car. I admire your talent and your incredible speed.

  6. Thats real cool. There used to be one like that around here in Mi. It was a wagon and the guy just moved the back of the top forward and finished off the inside of the box. It was never finished but it was a cool daily driver.

  17. Down here in New Zealand we had a similar model to that in '55 and '56 and it was called a Mainline ute (utility). I've never seen pics of them anywhere else so perhaps they were peculiar to NZ? A few still survive here. They look very similar, except for obvious touches like skirts etc.

Generally I'm not a fan of Utes and Ranchero/El Caminos, but that's well done and tasteful. I'm impressed.

I've seen pictures of stockers built in Australia, maybe they exported to NZ? There are also a handful in the USA.

There was an article in Ford Times around 1960 about a guy who built one out of a wrecked Crown Vic. The title of the piece was "restorations old and new" and shared the article with a restored Model A coupe.

That has got to be the nicest 56 ranchero I've seen. Seen a few attempts at one, but now where as nice as yours.
