3 Civilians were killed in this Packard by collateral damage ("friendly
fire") on Dec. 7, '41. As Sherman said, war really is hell.

EG, I hope you can help ID the plate as well as the car. Caddy, c. 1912?

Not the best photo for car nuts, but it does show what tourists went for in the 1920's. I think this was in Lincoln, NH and have no idea if it's still there. Like fire towers and observers, I suspect this too went into oblivion, but there were quite a few of these in their heyday.

Another glimpse into a tourist destination, back before air conditioning. The White Mountains in NH have always attracted motorists since cars first appeared. This is in Jackson, NH and the car at left is a 1912 Packard model 30.

Yes, 1912 Cadillac. I think the plate is European. Looks like a European radiator cap too.

She seems awfully happy to be cranking her Reo cut-down, don't you think?

Here are a few unusual license plates with cars attached. 1920 Hawaii with a Federal Truck and a 1910 Maryland with a Washington.

What better thing to ponder during lunch, than a chain drive car. Today's special is a FIAT.
