I was sitting at home last night and noticed that ESPN2 was airing a random NHRA drag race. Bored, I gave it a shot... Frankly, the belly button cars and stale classes did nothing to help my situation. I decided to press on and popped in an old DVD t...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
ahh, what a way to start the day. Perfect match... I've worn that album out, had to buy a new one! Thanks boss, I needed that!
Wow nothing like a good rip down the 1/4 and so good tunes to fire up the Monday morning !!! Very cool >>>>.
Weird, I get an internet explorer message that says I can't open the page. I can see it in the background, but it won't let me scroll or do anything. Stupid work computer! JK
Goin' good here! Thanks for the footage!! Nothin' like ganderin' at few good clips ta kick start the day. I think it should be required, kinda set the tone for the day.....
Works fine here. Anyone recognize those tracks? Wow ... Topolino Comp Coupes ... Rich Venza will be around here any minute EDIT: Damn Rich, it took you longer to find this thread than I thought!
Working fine back here in Georgia. Any film with multiple Fiat Comp Coupes makes me happy. The twin engine coupe is supercharger guru, Don Hampton's killer Fiat. Can anyone ID the other 2 Fiats?
Not sure which Fiats you are referring to, Rich, but the Dye-Hampton was a favorite. These two photos were taken the same day as the movie footage... As a 12 year old, I always took my 8mm spring wound movie camera and a 2 1/4 X 2 1/4 Graflex 120 camera with me. The dark red comp coupe in the pits was "The Animal" a sinister looking thing that was at San Gabriel the same day as Ivo was squaring off with Garlits. The red coupe getting pushed started is unknown to me. I don't remember ever seeing it again.
This was in the same envelope of negatives, so it, too was the same day as the LIONS movie footage...this was local Vernon Policeman Gary Cagle's dragster out of Newhouse Speed... I don't want to sidetrack this thread, but there are other photos from that day.
Dexter and The Flat Duo Jets changed my life...... That guy is a true American hero.... just like Ray Charles and Johnny Cash.. I can't even begin to say how much the Flat Duo Jets mean to me. Right there with the Oblivians and the Gories....
Lol, I babysat. I mean tour managed and mixed the Duo Jets on tour in the late 80's, definitely an experience, Dex is off his rock-n-roll rocker. The dude still kills it though... Man oh man that brings back memories... I'll have to break out the vinyl when I get home.
Just read the Oddball Gasser WTF thread, twin mills no less. I've never seen that configeration before.
