I was at a local indoor flea market and spotted an old Mallory Distributor, late 40's early 50s. The number on its side looked familiar but i can't seem to narrow it down to exactly which mallory Distributor this is and for what engine!!!! Here's the number: YC365HP If anyone knows,...please let me know. it doesn't look like the distributor on my GMC inline six but it IS old,....here's some pics of one on ebay I just saw that looks "almost" the same,...same top cap, etc. Thanks in advance. Jason
I can't help but have had the same question from time to time when I see them at swap meets and garage sales even. Once it gets past the YC 310 for a small block chevy I am lost on the rest. I would be great if someone on the HAMB here could post an old catalog with the application numbers for these neat old distributors. Don
Pretty sure it's a V8 Chevy of which there may be several numbers. I know they made tach drives for the Corvettes. I seem to remember the 348/409 dizzy looking like the SBC but being different but don't quote me on that. My catalog only goes up to 1953. It's newer than that.
can you post a picture of your distributor? showing a picture of some other distributor with a similar cap doesn't help... as much as the number.. I don't have a catalog but when I google the number it comes up with Mopar V8
Hey thats my dizzy for sale on ebay. I recognize my kitchen table.I was looking at it saying I got one just like that. Hey that is mine. Heres the #'s for you Mallory Double Life Distributor. Its got dual points. PN YC-310-HP on tag Shaft # apb250 Body # 24100V Cap 4004 Rotor 4215 Hope that helps you any.
Hi guys. Mallory YC-365-HP is for Mopar 440, 413 and 426 Hemi. Let me know if I can answer any more questions. Mike
Thanks for the info. The fact is, i don't have the distributor,...that's why i had said that it was at a flea market that I went to. It was shoved on the side so i could go back and pick it up if it was worth it,.....hence the questions first. Jason
LOL! small word huh!!?? yeah I thank all you guys for the info on what I'm dealing with. I thought it was a for a later 50's engine. thanks guys! Jason
I thought you bought it at a flee market. if it was cheap go back and get it, it won't take up any space in the shop and you may find a use for it later, even as parts or swap material.
I have a Mollory Dual point dis with 1034601 on the tag. What's is it for? Looks like it's for a Mopar.
I used to have a list of old mallory numbers but I can't find it. if you contact GMC Bubba he will be able to tell you for sure.
don't see it in my list from 1958. Wild guess...it is probably for an engine that was introduced around 1940.
