Thought I'd start a single thread with Model T tech drawings and plans....these can be original Ford productions, restorer or hot rod productions. Body, frame, tops, fenders, axles, radiators, whatever....

    Whatcha got??

Here are a few shots from an original model T Ford body parts catalog. The front and back covers are missing so I don't know what the title and printing date is.

Here is what I have done to a 1927 T Coupe and turned it into an extended cab pickup.

Probably not what you are looking for but it is T model stuff.

  4. The '26-'27 roadster dimensions are out there; I found this with a quick H.A.M.B. search...

I would LOVE to have measurements for a 26-27 Tudor.... anything would help.
I'm hoping to build one from almost scratch. There really is NOTHING around these parts and I don't have the thousands of dollars to buy one from away... but I have an English wheel and some experience. :)

anyone have the measurements for a coupe?

  11. Kathy Isam sold a 26 Tudor a while back; maybe the new owner would take some measurements for you? Send her a P.M. to Kisam.

I love this sort of stuff: not only useful but strangely subversive. Subscribed: keep it coming!

    Kool!

    So,

17.5" is to the centerline of the rear frame crossmember?
27.5" is to the angle point?
8" is to where? The corner of the angle brace?
Is 55" the entire length of the turtledeck?
What is the radius of the rear corners?
How far from the rear to, say, the firewall?

17.5" is were the rear wheel center line is

8" and 27.5" is were the sub frame flares out to match the body (see picture)
I achieved this by cutting down some off cuts of tube (3" x 1" by the way) and welding them on the sides.

55" was long enough for this to mate to the front at the rear of the doors, the front of the frame and sills were fine.

    The angle starts at 34"

I don't know the radius I just matched the body panels

hello friends, I'm looking for plans and drawings of a '27 Ford coupe, if you know where I can get some book or something like the drawings of his first post.

very good data on the '27 roadster

    regards

"Do you have electronic copies of the factory drawings for the parts of Model Ts?"

"Thank you for contacting The Henry Ford [Museum]. The Henry Ford [Museum] is an AAM accredited independent, non-profit, educational institution. We are not affiliated with Ford Motor Company (FMC) or Ford Foundation. However, the collection housed within the Benson Ford Research Center (BFRC) does contain an open treasury of research, historical expertise and unparalleled collections documenting the American Experience. This includes the Ford Motor Company Historical Archives (bulk 1903-1955).

The Ford Motor Company engineering parts drawings that we have in our collection are microfilm copies of the original blueprints. During the 1940s, the Ford Motor Company copied all of their parts drawings onto microfilm and destroyed the blueprints. We understand that this was done for storage purposes, because microfilm takes up less physical space and has a longer lifespan than paper, and also as a guard against espionage during wartime production. The parts drawings include Ford passenger vehicles and trucks, military vehicles, and more. Please see the attached document for more information on how to obtain copies from the Parts Drawing Collection.

Thanks again for your inquiry and please let us know if you'd like us to move forward with your inquiry.

"Do you have lists of drawings, if I identify a particular year?

"There are way too many drawings to have a list available at this time. However, we can research the parts numbers at a cost of $35 per hour for personal use, and before placing the order for duplication we can send you the list of drawings available. We would ask you to limit your request to the section of vehicle you need the part drawings for and would need the research payment before we could proceed.
