I am trying to confirm a motor, it is a small block Chevy 350, the casting number is 10066086, I cannot find it in any of the books or on-line sites.

Can anyone give me some help on identifying, year, age of this block?

Is it possible that the 8 is a 3? I ask because if you search Mor tec they have a listing for 10066036.
    This is what it reads.

    10066036...350...........2 or 4...Target Master/Goodwrench crate motor, 2-piece rear
    seal, "Hecho en Mexico"

Thats coppied right off thier site.

Could be a 3, hard to read it, and the guy said it was a crate motor, so I guess that all fits into the story

The suffix code on the front passenger pad of the block will tell you that. There should be a sequence of number's and letter stamped there, and the last letters will tell you what the general application was for your motor..
There could be one letter up to three..

Check out this site. There is a listing of suffix codes that you *should* be able to run through to get an idea of what your's came from.

Have a Mex 350, 1006636, 3 bump heads, unaltered vortec. Found a number on the front of the block above the water inlet on the passenger side and it is stamped like this
    1M0710
    8VP
What does that number say? Thanks

    Hi Guys,

Can any one confirm what ive got
    GM 10066036 on the block
    33426651 on the crank
    462624 on the head
1M0403 7H04 stamped on front of block
H04 12587265 on a sticker serial number stuck on the sump
I open the sump and is a 4 bolt all cast pistons had a B stamped on it???
As i got shafted on ebay saying its was a blown motor complete n new which it is
I contacted the speed shop that the seller told me it was from and wasnt.
So just looking at what i got if anyone knows,
Will build it and put 6-71 blower ontop see if it goes bang.

    Positive comments please
    Cheers

  11. What do you mean by "positive comments please" ... what have you heard about this place??

Is there a suffix code on the block deck, right front???
