i know that the chevy monzas with the 3.8 buick v-6 DID have electric chokes on the 2G-----which means it's actually a 2GE. Why were you wanting to know?
They make a alum ring to adapt the elec. choke to the original housing, if you need the vendor PM me.
got the smallo carb with electric choke but i bought a lot of parts off e gay before i found one that fit right and it needs some modifications to work on the electri c connection
All the boat carbs are electric,Check out a boat junk yard. (yes we have boat junk yards around lake erie) or look them up at west marine(boat U S) good luck russ
Thanks - that's the answer I was looking for and didn't know it. Q-jets are by far the most common source of electric chokes which will fit the 4GC. Of course, just my luck, the one QJ core I own has a heat choke. jack vines
In my opinion, no. No disadvantage to the heat crossover type either. Electric is probably simplest though, besides manual.
I'm thinking that was a "Dual-Jet"... kind of looked like just the front half of a Quadra-Jet. The choke thermostat might still interchange though.
Dual Jets showed up in 79, on Malibu's at least. My 78 had a 2GC with a hot-air choke, my 79's both had Dual Jets.
