Our boards fit in the back, sideways and between the seats, no need for a rack...

  3. Man Mazooma those pix of the Miracle Pie Wagon are always so cool...you were and are the man! I used to watch the beach movies as a little kid in cold and snowy or hot and humid Indiana and dream of a ride like that and hittin' the beach...keep posting those pix

If you live in the mid west, get yourself a set of water skis or an old canoe. That would be a lot cooler.

I have wanted a cool surf wagon for a long time, but I would feel like a poser since I don't surf. I've been trying to convince my friend who surfs to buy a wagon so I can build one.

Doug, is that your "Buffalo Springfield" hat? (Or izzat you on the left?) Looks like he's saying, "Come, eat some pie."

59cac thanks for your valuable input.

I am building a woodie and because so many now run surf boards on their cars, I dont think I will. maybe a vintage canoe or skis (live on a lake now, so they fit better).

    my old surf wagon

My 'surf wagon in the 60's was a 1941 Willys mordor sedan with roof racks on it. We'd stack the old malibus in 2 stacks of 3 tall and six of us would ride to the local beaches in her. I don't have a single pic of that car, but I do have one from that era I will try and find. here's another 'original' pic though....

    Cheers, Glen.

I took a few pics of that car this past weekend. IMO the color looks better in person.

The owner is in the same 'car club' as me, the So Cal Novas. We just did a cruise up the coast last Saturday.

There are some more pics here:

I just did a bunch of T Shirts for the guys over on Steves Nova Site (The Longroof Society).

A 42-48 Chrysler Town & Country Sedan would be the ultimate surf-woodie, especially a 42 with the really bold trim and the barrel back with dual opening doors.

[IMG]Here's my old hillbilly surf wagon, I only took it surfing once. Didn't work too well though, it just sank! It took the towtruck all day to pull it back outta the ocean! :)

  28. D'oh ... my bad ... plywude's Plymouth wagon is actually a 1951 (not a '52).

    Here's just one more pic:
