Y block starters

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 46international, Jan 16, 2013.

  1. In parts books I see that a Y block uses some type of shield type thing at the starter attachment point. Is this needed? does it space the starter out to the correct position?
this is on a '59/'60 292 with an automatic, ford-o-matic

It's just a rubber dust boot. Wont affect starter operation, designed to keep crud out of the bellhousing.
