9 Inch FORD Rear WITHOUT Spring Pads???

Looking around the yard for Hershey stuff and noticed an early Ford 9 inch rear, WITHOUT spring pads. Did Ford offer it on sonething that way or did someone do a really great job removing them? I can't feel or see any evidence that it ever had pads, think it is a truck item with the early bolt pattern. Thanks. Bob

 

Bob,you have had that thing so long,parts of it are starting to go away on their own... ;}

 

Full floating axle.

 

Its got surface rust, nothing real bad. It's early without that beefed up tube to center section. Got to narrow one for the Roadster, this may be the one. Bob
