The weather was crisp this morning in Santa Rosa. The cool air surprised me as the sky was clear and the sun was bright. It made the setting at the Tardel shop all the ...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.

Verns Ranch is the coolest Place on earth!!! Been there a couple of times and miss it the moment i leave ! Michael
No matter how many times my dad had resurrected an old engine of any kind from the dead, There was taht Certain look, the satisfaction of a GOD LIKE feeling, of bringing the old beast back to life. I sure miss those old times with my dad. (R.I.P. Dad) I have been lucky enough to see the look on my lil girls face (Rebuilding her 4 wheeler engine just last week) and hopefully soon enough in my Son's eyes as well. They both seem to be gearheads, and can not get enough of anything mechinical and especially old and historical. Great Thread Ryan, keep us posted.. Thanks
...someday,Ill come!! It sure sounds great,Im dying to get to meet Mr.Tardel, and ,learn more about flatties...Im even considering the workshops... The only problem is where IM at...but it ll work out, eventually!!! Have fun!!!
I know what you mean about mornings in Santa Rosa. I lived there for 18 years and still miss good ol' Sonoma Co. just about every day....Ah, envy....
It's going to be a GREAT week reading a daily blog of what's going down at the Flathead Ranch. Thanks Ryan.
Hey i thought you were suppose to be cleaning out the storage sheds not playing with a flattie?! Much better day than mine. Enjoy your daily grind for the week. Jon
Each morning, I love to turn on the laptop, pour a cup of joe, and listen to Ryan's philosophical prose. I smile, and know that HAMBers the world-wide are smiling just like me. Life is grand.
Ryan, just curious. Is Bishop still "poking his head in" at "De Ranche??" Or is his move to Stillman (?) over and done with? (last I heard he was prepping some French flatties at Vern's)
In my best Napoleon Dynamite voice "Lucky!" Tell the boys I said hello. It was great seeing them at the salt. Now get PJ out there helping you clean that motor!
Ryan.......a friend of mine who lives in Hawaii has a 29 sedan ,with 4 banger there that Vern is working on...........could ya take a pic and post it??
old engine running after a cough and few more spins ....eeek no oil pressure blammy well we have parts to fix all this give the new kid sumtin to do .... all sounds like a plan to get you greasyy have good time remember that learnin is fun at this age..
that sounds just like my last weekend on March. Only part 2 was: Jay get that A coupe ready I am on my way and heading to Austin! Thanks Dave.
Ryan, Vern was my very 1st customer. He believed in our parts and wanted something different. I am glad when I get a chance to visit and have lunch with him. I've done work there blowing fenders off a 32 5 window that turned into a very nice lil hot rod. I have a great time when there, dig all of the projects that are going on-He's producing more "traditional" deuces than anyone else out there and they are all "spot on". Get to getting that rod knock out! You'll definitely come home with a great deal of knowledge.
did he take you out for a bowl of chili yet?...or is that place even there anymore...hmmmm. Se ya this weekend!
