Looking forward to following the build.

  3. Toddj,

Thanks for following along. Your gonna like this one.

I've admired your artwork for a while and have several pieces of it. My favorite is the pic you did of my '54 Victoria for Autorama last year. It hangs proudly in my shop for all to see.

I look forward to seeing you again in the basement next year. The deuce should be there and looking mean.

    Thanks again, Todd.

You're welcome man! I am excited to see the progress on the coupe. I really appreciate the kind words on the art and I am so glad you dig it!

The coupe body looks great sitting on the frame!

Can't wait for Autorama to see the finished car in person!!!

Damn it all those subrails are nice!!!! I was gonna steer away from them seeing how they're made overseas but they look too nice to turn away from them. Sigh...... there goes my morals. :D:D:D

Looks like it's coming together!!! Love seeing detail shots of 5w builds. I right click and save them all!!!

  11. Yup JJ, they were nice!

Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do...

It would have been a nightmare putting this car back up on the rails without them.

Yeah they are definitely nice. Most people use Brookville's and just modify the roadster ones a bit but there is definitely something nice about being able to just set those puppies on the frame rails and be ready to start squaring up the body and such.

Not sure if I should get them since my car will be channeled especially since those have the rocker installed already. Got some stuff to figure out and even more time to figure it all out. I'll keep checking in on the CEREAL KILLER COUPE.

  13. Damn JJ, Cereal Killer Coupe... Why didn't I think of that?!?

Given the car was from Battle Creek and the sinister look this thing will have when done, THAT NAME FITS!!!

Is it too late to change the name? I wanna change the name!!! :D:D LOL.

  14. Nah. Just get one of the mods to change the Thread title. We'll all pretend it was the Cereal Killer Coupe from the start, I promise.

Wow! Those subrails look really nice, I need to order a pair for my son's coupe.

Good save on the 5w looks better already.

  17. Talked with Jo a little while ago.

He is working on replacing the channel on the front of the cowl. It was whacked off back in the day when the P.O. Put a flat stainless firewall on the car. Putting a stock style firewall back in.

Will then start mock-up for the nailhead. Hoping to have engine mocked up before his open house on Sept 21. If the shipping gods work, I should have serious eye-candy for the nailhead in time for the open house.

I should have some fresh pics by the end of the weekend.

    Stay tuned...

  18. Got my doors and deck lid back from the stripper.

Doors are great. Deck lid - not so good. I'm planning on getting a skin and inner from Brookville and having it punched full of holes.

Good to see some of the patch panels being done! Nice doors, bummer to see the decklid is so rough...a brookville skinn pinched full of holes...can't go wrong there!

  20. The Brookville skin is plan A.

Plan B is to find a louvered '32 deck lid that someone has just laying around.

    Anyone have one?

  21. Not much new to report right now. I should have lots of updates soon.

I'm headed to Indy for the weekend and will be going to the openhouse at Bubba's on Friday and Jokerrs on Saturday. I'm running down some parts I've been collecting and meeting with Jo about the build.

I'll be taking lots of pics and will post them soon.

Lookin' great Dave. From what I've seen come out of Jo's shop, we won't be disappointed. If you get tired of those stacks laying around.... I have the perfect place to keep them lubed up.

Can't wait to see the progress.

  30. How appropriate. My Hilborn shows up one day and the new HRD with Ivo's bucket on the cover shows up the next.
