Not mine, but if you're going to chop it, then chop it......

    Attached Files:

  6. I chopped my 5". Almost went 6" but I can't see now with 5". I originally was going 4 but then started seeing all kinds of sedans with 4" chop so I wanted to go a little more. I duct taped the windshield at the measurement I was trying to decide on and finally went with the 5" mainly because of visibility reasons. I have seen some with the windshield raised up into the header panel to improve visibility.

  7. I'd like to chop mine 4 inches but If I do I'll probably do 3" so I can see to drive. I'm channeled four inches and sitting on the floor board now! Raked and a visor too.

  8. This is 4" ...... I lifted the header bar up 1" and it gives good visibility.

That will probably depend on how tall you are, what your seating arrangement will be etc. I'm 5'9 and had a 6" chop on my 29 sedan with bomber seats and I could see just fine driving it, being first at a stop light was another story.

mine was close to 5 1/2 and it was very difficult to see stop lights with a full header and windshield frame. the green overhead stop light would dissapear way too early when driving thru town.

Here is mine. 5 inch chop. I am 6'2 and drive this car as much as I can. I have no complaints as far as visibility goes.Sometimes I have to til my head to see traffic lights if I'm close to em. But I have NO channel. A 5" chop and 5" channel is alot to cut out of a model a. Is this a car that you want to take on 1000 mile road trips? or just local car shows?[IMG]

Thank you. If and when I get around to building an A that's exactly the profile I want.

Looks like you're running some kind of trailing-arm rear suspension?

Oh wait, I bookmarked your build thread a few days ago...but you haven't gotten that far yet! ;)

    Hi,
now i have Volvo's rear end and Volvo's original "4-link" with coil-overs. But i will change coil-overs to an original suspension and make "real" 4-link. Reason is: original spring looks better :)
I try to update project thread soon.

What is "trailing-arm"? I have little problem with english and Google can't help me, sorry.

:DHi guys. For those of you that are having trouble seeing the traffic lights.IIRC,in the 60`s maybe the late 50`s Caddys there was a "periscope" type of thing that was mounted at the top of the windshield that worked pretty good.
Hope that you folks know what I am referring to.
    Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.
