One of my all time favorites !!! Anyone know if it`s still around ? Last thing I have seen of his 5W was a for-sale ad in a early sixties Hot-Rod Mag classifieds ... [IMG]

Do you know him ? [IMG] Sorry about the miss-spelling of his last name , but Both " Trend-Books" #102 , Andy Southard jr named him Yakel , so I though it was correct [IMG]
Please PM me if you know him !

Isn't this the car restored a few years ago owned by the guy who bought Franco's Kooky-car clone ? I thought his name was John Labelle.

Klazurfer, thanks for posting that pic of the Don Wiliams Coupe.
That is one of the 3 of my all time favorite Hot Rods.
It is also proof that Hot Rods did get built to be ultra low in the old days ( That pic looks like it is the Nov 51 HRM Cover ).

Lowlife , Thanx for posting those nice pix [IMG] [IMG]
Wideglide .. the Yakel-car was Maroon at first , and later it was painted Metallic Forest green . That nice body you posted would be a great start to duplicate the first version . Even the chop looks simmilar to Lynns car . What a GREAT find !!!

  23. This is the car John Labelle restored. I thought it was the Yakel car. What car is that illustration of ?

  24. Klaz, sorry I'm a little late in replying to your post, but just found these pics in a '72 & '73 Street Rod magazine. (not Street Rodder)
The first picture was taken by Andy Southard at the Santa Ana Drags in 1952.

  25. These pictures were from Lynn's own collection and were taken at various locations.
The story goes that at the end of '52 Lynn sold the coupe but found it again in 56 but didn't buy it back and after wanting it back later found that it was gone and hasn't seen it since.
Probably a little known fact is that Lynn designed the beautiful Larsen & Cummins bonneville streamliner, and is a expert authority on Mercedes Benz.
