    Heres my little "shed find"

It was painted green in 76 over the original white, runs the straight 8 and has perfect original red interior.

Now I've lowered it a bit, put the whitewalls on and oldsmobile caps.

That is a nice car,Ive not seen any straight Eight 50's pontiacs.(oz delivered)
According to eddie ford(70s street rodder)there were only 250 brought in in 54,a very small number of those would have been 8s.

    Whats it drive like?
I changed the diff ratio for 56 pontiac 3:63 (better on the freeway but painfull on take off)

Let me know if you need any bits I dont have much I may be able to source some.

Hey Plumfat40, I like the stance of your car, what are your suspension stats?

It has a 68-72 nova sub, I graft it on as high in 53 frame as possible, stock springs and spindles, rides like a dream, rear is same deal, nova springs inside of frame, granada 8inch rear,

Cut a coil and a half out of the front, the rear has 4 leaves yanked with 3 inch belltech blocks and u-bolts in the rear. The rear has been dropped about 8 or 9 inches from where it sat stock when I got it.

Does anyone know how involved adding a dual master is (53 chieftian)? My master might be bad, and i was reading ofton people would use early 70s truck dual master cylinders. I'm told these are about 30 bucks, and safer too. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the offer mate, dont need any parts at the moment but once i start pulling things apart im sure something will come up.

As for driving, it drives fine, really smooth. Does take a bit on take off but yeah, drives better than any other old car I've had.

I've been trying to research this on the HAMB, and i've not found too much information specific to pontiac so i started looking into the chevy swaps. The Chevy swap seems more complicated as the pedal is mounted on the master.

The pedal on my pontiac is mounted to the frame, and the master is directly infront of it with a rod that simply pushes the master as you would expect. Seeing that this setup is much simpler than the chevy, i think i can just use a chevy truck master and hold it on with a bracket(in the same location as the original master) i can fab. Is the swap really this easy?

Can i simply split the single feed brake line into two easy enough?

Other questions i have are in regards to using a proportioning valve, and pedal/master pressure ratio.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

You all should check out www.1952pontiac.com its a great source of info for 49-54 pontiacs, and there is a forum which i see as a good place to discuss pontiac specific needs.
