I was just reading another thread and seeing a youtube video that was posted with a little Model A coupe racing what appeared to be a 55 Chevy got me thinking who actually has the baddest and fastest 55 Chevy but with respect for the other two years i thought i would ask for them all 55,56,57 even though I prefer the 55's :D.

I have to think Shakeypudding's 55 is right up there.

Perhaps the fellow I'm running in that video.

The Chevy in "DW vs. the Chevy" belongs to Senior Fried here on the HAMB. It was wicked quick then ( you can see him pull away every time I shift ) & it's bigger & badder now. Not sure what kinda times he is laying down now but I suspect he is a contender.

Dennis is a great guy & has never been one to tell that the only reason I "won" that race is because he lifted. (funny, most folks don't seem to notice!)
He perpetuates the myth, but I tell folks the truth. Hell, I might coulda had him if it weren't for that damned Richmond haha!

I assume you mean on the dragstrip (hard to back up that fastest claim without a time slip!;)) so I'd like to know the times on the fastest. He's not a HAMBer but my buddy has a stock bodied and framed 55 that's street driven. He broke into the 9's (9:80 @137 mph) this summer with it at our track, 1 mile altitude. Fast enough the track told him not to come back till he had a NHRA drivers license. I saw the run, was pretty impressed, I'd like to know how it compares!

The Blue 55 that Senior Fried (Dennis)owns is one bad hombre .I think its running mid 9's in the 1/4 and high 5's in the 1/8 ,and its not gutted or anything. Its got the full bench interior and stock frontend under it if im not mistaken. All motor to last i heard.Sum faster ,but i dont know of any that are still all stock 55 bodied and interior wise here that are faster ...

Uhhh, last time I was at San Antonio running index..... I don't remember you being in the lane with 11.0 cars...I was, maybe you have done some work since then.

My Belair will run an 11.20.......My 55 Belvedere I hope to get in the 10's

Forty five years ago my '55 Chevy 210 with a straight tube axle weighting 2700 lbs with what is now ancient technology. Powered by a 327 cu in SBC, Mondello 202 heads, Chet Herbert roller, Edelbrock cross ram with 500cfm Holleys, M-21 Muncie, 5:57 Pontiac rear axle with Henry's axles, power shifting at 8500 ran a best of 11.21 @ 121 mph. At the time Newhouse Auto held the C/G National record at 11.11 @ 127. With a 427 cu in BBC I ran a best of 10.80 @ 129. So with all the great modern technology you guys should be in the low 9s. More info is listed on my profile. Looks like Shakey Puddin' leads the way.
