Yeah, you and me both (and a lot of others). That's why this thread is so good.

  10. I had some A cossmembers , an A rear spring, 34 front end, early Ford wheels, junk flathead and a 46 pickup rear end so I decided to build a 32 chassis to sell off. I bought a pair of Framerails from Squeak Bell and put this together. This was a few years ago and I sold it at the LA radster show. Rear radius rods were from a late 30's front wishbone.

Zach, where does the model T rear cross member get you in regards to stance Vs. an model "a" rear cross member? Is that a "T" rear spring? What does that add to the equation?

    Thanks,
    Chris

    chris,
i have the T crossmember at the bottom edge of the rails and it was too low with the spring and crossmember from a 26/27
not only didnt it look right to me but the wishbones (36 rear) would hit the frame rails...they still hit now on a big bump...but its not too bad
the T crossmember isnt as much "dip/bump" as the A and the spring is not as tall and seems softer
i dont have the frame Z'd at all or anything and the wheels are about where they should be in the wheel wells of my 28 body....i think i have about 3/4-1 inch of spacers above the spring

The cast-blast looking stuff is powder coating, so this is a driver not a show car.

I have this one together for my Model A Roadster project. Perimeter frame by Gary Maxwell at Blackboard Hot Rods in Bakersfield, CA. Motor mounts, steering box mount, rear suspension mounts, front 'Funky Fork', through-frame wishbone mounts, front shock mounts (and relocated trans mount) by Andy Leach of CAL Automotive Creations.

I've been gathering ideas and inspiration from other cars/builds/photos for a couple years and came up with this:
