As a companion thread to CShabang's thread.

I've always thought detailed 32 chassis' sitting on their rollers is just about the purtiest thing you can lay your eyeballs on. I'm slowly amassing parts for my own (but it could take a LONG time) and this is thread is strictly meant as chassis porn.
I can think of a few builders on here that are nothing but inspiring, let's see more!

    Anybody?
    THANKS in advance...

Coils ... Vega coils ... they were at the power coaters when that photo was taken.

if you think about it ... a Vega weighs about the same as a 32 roadster ...

My 32 Roadster ... in the avatar ... is the same set up. The chassis posted is for my 32 3W ...

http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/journal.php?action=view&journalid=3880&page=1&reverse=1 is more photos of my 32 3W project ...

I appreciate the info. I did a model a sedan years ago and used speedways t bucket coils and it rode like a caddy.

The chassis that Rudy built for the Gooch is mind blowing as well.

I forgot ... my avatar is not the roadster ... anymore

I have a aluminum center section and a aluminum driveshaft to help reduce unsprung weight so the Roadster rides real good ... for a 2240 lbs car. :)

The 3W should do even a little better ... as it is a little heavier with the coupe body and A/C ...

heres mine, its an original frame with an A front crossmember front 1 rivet hole (1.25") its pinched behind the K-member and a 27 T rear crossmember installed then i added some tubing to stiffen it..and boxed in the rear kicks to look kinda like a newer frame with the holes...sort wish i woulda just left it stock as now its too "new"
i feel so bad for ruining that nice original 32 frame...
    anyways heres the pics

    nice job!!
thanks for making mine look bad!
is that the stock 32 arm on the K-member?
im trying to figure out what all i need for mechanical brakes on my next one
just going to build a basically stock 32 frame but with new rails...I"ll drill all the holes and put all the dents in, dont worry
but i want to run mechanicals...so
i think it'll be great grandma porn!

  23. I'm thinking of doing the same.

Do you have any pics or any other info on how it all goes together?

I've got some small factory sketches but thats all.

I assume its pretty much the same as a stock 'A' set-up where you go from the pedal to the cross shaft and then out to each wheel from the ends of the crossshaft?

I'm really not sure how it all works. i dont think theres a cross shaft though. i think its more of a plate with forks coming off on pivots but i could be wrong
in about a month im going to a friends place that has a restored model-18 roadster so im going to take all the pictures i can and I'll be glad to share them with you
have you seen the brake energizer parts on e-bay? i think the guy is from new zealand. looks like they may help
but really i dont see any disadvantage to the mechanicals in a light car as long as you keep them adjusted right
I'm assuming you'll be doing a 4 banger which i am too so the whole car should be awfully light with an A body and probably not too terribly bad even with a 32 body..im not 100% sure which way i wana go there
im just hung up on building one absolutely perfect, late 30's correct with all of the best parts i can find for it and paint and upholster it like brand new.
