Those are indeed what I was referring to, and those are on the back of my '29 Roadster.

These are off a 1937 Olds L37 but I think they would look good on a hiboy sedan about midway up..... And they're for sale in the parts section.....

Good timing on this post! I have a prewar-themed '29 AV8 but I had been running '50 Pontiacs with blue dots, not exactly period correct even if they do look good. The car was hit in the rear and I have a fresh canvas to work with.

Teardrops are cool but way too common, and they don't put out a lot of light. '41 Chevy and '41 Ford work, but I like the look of round lights. What I'd really like is a set of '37 Cord tail lights: round but flat. I think they would look great on a '29.

Is there any chance in hell of finding a set? Have they been repopped, like by Glenn Pray or some kit car outfit?

I think these 40 Buick sedan taillights look to be similar to the ones on the first post of this thread, except mine are rotated 90 degrees

Quoted for truth, and that can't be said too much. Along with a big plastic third brake light tacked in there for good ugliness measure. Puke.

I can measure it but to give you anidea the bullet part of the lens is very close to the size of a truck bullet marker light .

I've seen these and never thought about putting them on a '36 . . . . thanks for getting the wheels turning in my head.

  14. Cole Foster used them on Kirk Hemmets 36 but he only had the lenses and made some bezels from stainless.

For something a little different, I really dig 49-50 Hudson.

The 39 Plymouth taillamps are a "chubbier" version of the 38-39 Ford style. Nice because they are just different enough to be noticed. Sorry, no pic.

I also like the 42-48 Chevy Sedan Delivery only stoplight, a rather severe straight edge very pointed teardrop. As hard to find as the 39 Plymouths.

I can't seem to pass up cool tail lights at the swap meets.Such a bargain, yet has a lot of impact on the looks of a car.The '49 Ford rates high,as far as stock lights are concerned.

The early taillights absolutely need bright bulbs since they are generally small, but bright bulbs really work.
