I have always had a soft spot for any automotive related so with the idea of expanding our family a few years, I began looking for the 'right' project to start for our soon-to-be bundle of joy. I started looking for internet builds and ran across several on this site as well as other internet forums.

Let's see those custom baby cruisers!

What creative minds have come up with? Post up what you started with, how you did it, and the end result.

Finished mine in time for Roundup! Just needs some stripping now.

Chassis may have been a bit overkill, this may be good for 40 mph at Bonneville. :)

heres my last build..the pictures dont do it justice. The chrome, pinstriping and paint look better in person. this one is from 1947.

Hey man... had to keep this side of the hobby alive. :D

I'm loving the progress you have made on the little lady's cruiser. I hope to have some updates on my project within the next few weeks. Should be a neat one as well. :)

Awesome work! Do you have any more pictures of this project? (From the top down, etc.) Curious if you modified the seat area to accomodate the wheels.

    Too cool!!!!

That thing turned out awesome, and I can only imagine how happy your daughter is.

    What's the seat out of?

I need to get some pics of what we were able to accomplish this weekend on my project. Turned out pretty nice. :)

Alright... "finally" time for an update of my own. :)

Back in the fall, I got the urge to build a custom pedal car, thanks to the builds on this board. So I set out to locate an original paint pedal car to start as my foundation for this build. I posted an ad on Craigslist and followed a few deadend roads until I came across an all original (except for the seat) AMF Skylark.

After sitting in the garage all winter being neglected and the birth of our first on 2/26, it was time to give it a good clean up (remove the seat) and then get to work. :) Called up a buddy that had a free weekend to help me with this project and we headed out to build a custom cruiser for the little one.

One key thing... it had to remain stock and be able to be turned back to a pedal car. Here are a few shots of the frame work:
