  2. I don't know that I'm feelin' that one.

It'd be interesting to find out what became of it.

I don't know that I really do either... But something about it makes me want to use it as a getaway car after I knock off a liquor store.

  4. Well if you did pull a heist with it, you'd better hope it's fast, because you aren't going to blend in to traffic. :D

There's just something about a '40 that's been channelled or sectioned or both that really floats my boat. I think they scream "Bad Ass!" they look like some greasey hood is going to jump out and shank ya with a rusty ol' switchblade.

Ryan & Greezeball, i find your comments rather interesting.
While both of you think of the car as 'bad ass' owned by a 'rebelious a-hole', I'm thinking totally the opposite. I see channeled '40 coupes or even sedans and roadsters as elegant, owned by someone creeping up on age that has a taste for European specials. I like the car. It sits just right.

I always assumed the Valley Custom Shop had something to do with it... But I'm not sure, nobody knows.

    I like it...
with skirts... and a few other differences from the R&C cover...

I think in a lot of ways I am more of a subtle Hot Rod type feller as well. I always seen myself in a dark flathead powered coupe with wire wheels. But for some reason that dream keeps getting pushed back as I'm working on my red '35 which slightly reminds me of this one. It's not something I set out to build but I am having a ton of fun exploring the personality of the later half of the 50's. There's just something explosive about this era that I am submerging myself in and soaking it all up.

Much like this car I set out to have a nasty coupe but how nasty can you be with bubbly white walls and red paint. It's like a little person with a Switchblade. Sure I bet it can be "dangerous" but you just can't help but to be happy around it.

I like it! Ive always like things that are gaudy, but Im also a minimalist at the same time. This one fits both sides of the coin perfectly. I could see someone who looks like Robert Gordon (now, not when he was younger) crawling out of it....

A lot of cool stuff is unknown....that's what makes it so cool , someone did it but not for the "Props" just because they thought it was cool....and I'm way more into it with the skirts....FTW attitude just drips off in that rendition

love it, other then the grille, Jury is still out on it...

  15. I like the '39 Buick grille..in a '39 Buick. 40's are one of those bodies that just work, without doing major mods.

  16. Funny, I like it BECAUSE OF the grill!

It's too low to not have a chopped top. Reminds me of the kid's game with the dice in the clear globe. You push down on the globe and it makes the dice jump. And that Buick grille would make me go back four spaces. Just wrong.

That '40s ok, but I really like the handbuilt topless coupe on the lower part of the cover. I have that mag and drool over all those '40s.....never owned one but I would!

something is off about the front end. look at the head on shot, the light on one side is lower or maybe the bumper is crooked. something is wonky someplace!

  28. Nowadays they would just make a grill to fit the car instead of making the car fit the grill... Not sure which I like better now... looks kinda Streetroddytm

Look at the way the grill mimics the line the hood and the tops of the fenders make... Nice.

I'll try and find the article, I believe this car was found, recieved a stock 40 Ford nose and was Pro-streeted.

  30. Love it! looks more finished with the skirts.
