Attached is an article of the 427 SOHC powered BALKANS AWB 1965 Falcon two door sedan as taken from Drag Strip magazine Oct 1967. What I found interesting is the use of rear suspension "Coil Overs" in lieu of leaf springs. Of concern is the following:

    1) Would rear suspension Coil Overs allow the use of wider slicks?

    2) Would rear suspension Coil Overs yeild quicker ET's over leaf springs?

    3) Would rear suspension Coil Overs in lieu of leaf springs handle better on a street A/FX build

    4) I have more original 60's scans of rear suspension Coil Overs. Please let me know if you want me to start a A/FX 60's thread of rear suspension Coil Overs.

Dan, Good to hear from you, everything going alright other than the computer I hope. How did you do at the Texas Thaw? When are you all coming this way? Tell all hello for me.

Snowing big time in Blairsville right now and it don't look like it's going to stop any time soon.

I'll tell Gopher and Don I caught up with you.

1st pass was a handful, car all over the track.Mark rolled out way before finish line.Track was cold, but when the sun go higher, track got better.Next 2 passes much better, car left with 2 feet of air,and with about 8 or 9 passes on the engine rebuild, the engines finally starting to come around, the rings are starting to set better, less smoke.

The down side,Mark did a tune on Jims 55 Chevy(picked up .35),put some good gas in it,and let Jim beat him twice.1st pass,Jim won by inches, and 2nd in Elems, the Ford ran too fast, broke out.Jim got to leave 1st though, and Mark did catch him.

Say howdy to Gopher,n Don,and don't eat too much snow ice cream
