That 54 Dodge truck grill bar really looks good in there!

It looks good in lots of cars, either alone or with its smaller upper bar.
I suspect the reason it wasn't used more often in the 50s was that it was usually painted rather than chrome from the factory. So while it was an easy swap, it had to be chromed first!

hey guys me and a buddy are thinking of chopping my 1940 chevy coupe and making it a 3 window. we are planning on moving the rear window forward so the c pillar fills in the gap of the corner glass. also was thinking of doing about a 4" chop and maybe more in the rear. any help would be appreciated before cutting my car up

  6. Do it! The roof needs to be leant back a good bit to get the flow.

Just wondering if some one can play with my box. I was wondering what a frosted brown would look like or gold any ways I would really appreciate it!

    Hi,
A friend could pick up a Nova like this very very cheap.
Maybe a photoshop guru can add Astros with whitewalls and also a red panel paint Job?
would be great, thank you very much :)
    cheers,

    Hey Max,
Here are two versions. The first is plain white, so you could see what dechroming and lowering would do with the Astro Supremes.

The second is something in a multi-tone in the orange/butterscotch family. I imagined the window frames and B-post in chrome. I tried some reds, as you asked for, but couldn't get the look I wanted. Sorry.

Thanx so much! I asked for red because the interior is also red, but that orange is also nice

I wish I had the talent to help, but wanted to say that the shoebox above has a really nice fastback roofline! I too would like to see that painted gold.

Eli,your like a magician and an artist all rolled into one.;) I love what you did with my car.
Had been tossing up between two different colours but now im 100% going with black.
Paint is so expensive but now I don't have to worry if I will be happy with my colour choice.
To go to this trouble for someone you don't even know is brilliant I hope you get a good karma return to you soon.
    Eli,thank you very much,your the best,regards Gene.:):):)

Thank you for your kind words Gene. I enjoy doing this stuff and I'll take any good karma that comes along with it.:D Sometimes these projects take awhile (approx. 20 hours in this case) and to get feedback, whether good or bad, from the requester usually helps the next project get a little bit better. Aloha, Eli

Wow! I didn't realize the time it took to do that! The floor reflections in the new paint are really impressive though, I must admit, it looks photorealistic. Even the shiny painted frame has sunlight on the reveal line, and the filled top does, too.
