Love this thread but was really excited to see this here! Ford Tri-Motor NC7121 was flown by my great uncle Gilbert Minick. It was purchased in 1929 (I think) by Cap Goodsell and several businessmen partners from Canton, OH. Gil was a pilot and mechanic and worked for Goodsell. Tri-Motored Air Tours barnstormed around the country giving many folks their first ride in an airplane. As far as I know they didn't operate as a true airline with scheduled flights. Eventually Gil purchased NC7121 from Goodsell, then sold it to Frank Tallman and Paul Mantz of Tallmantz Aviation in SoCal who used it in the movies, including some of the few actual flying sequences in "Only Angels Have Wings" with Cary Grant. It was eventually scrapped by Tallmantz. Family legend has it that Uncle Gil taught Paul Mantz how to spin the Tri-Motor.

NC7121 was updated throughout its career with Tri-Motored Air Tours, the most obvious being the later-style windscreen shown in yellerspirit's post. Here she is in her early state shortly after purchase with the owners (Cap Goodsell on left) posing proudly in front. (There's a larger version of this image in the thumbnails link below)....
