Lookin like maybe this shouldn't have been such a limited run by the response so far. I would really like the have a copy also!
I predict that the first print issue will have an Editor's Note proclaiming it to actually be the second issue--because either A) the first issue is the online Jalopy Journal; or B) paraphrasing what Mojo Nixon said about Elvis--being that he is everywhere/everything/everybody/still the king and/or "in Joan Rivers but trying to get out"--it's the first issue in all of US. Got it?
I'm excited for this, I am a book hoarder and I'll be getting 2, one to live at the shop and get dirty! The other for the bookself.
Sounds like there's a presale on the way. What's the expected price? Can someone put these guys out of their misery, re: #1? It was printed many many years ago wasn't it?
So is this a way of getting me to become an alliance member finally? I keep putting it off because I am a broke bastard but hell its not like it matters, I will still be broke so whats another month of beans and cornbread....I will make it...Jim
This is gonna be a stolen Picasso auction, for sure! The sharks will be circlin......I'm gonna try my hardest to get one.
Jeez Ryan - You been serving Kool Aid around here? People begging you to take their money... I happen to know you guys have some good stuff, because a couple of the contributors to my latest book bailed out and went with you instead. No hard feelings though - in fact, I'm happy for you guys. Sounds like an intense but really fun project! I doubt I'll get a peek at it before it sells out, but I hope to score a copy in a few years at a swap meet or something. Welcome to the grand tradition of rods and customs in print, Scotty
Thanks for the info. I suspected something was "unique" about this news. So in a manner of saying, like the core of this site, you either "get it, or you don't". No matter, I'm in.
You did give us a heads up about a year ago..... "I’m often labeled as the antagonist… The hater of print… The pupil turned enemy… The leader of destruction… Gonzo gone horribly wrong. I don’t think many of these detractors realize how much passion I actually have for the tangible. They don’t see me fall to my knees when a new issue of The Rodder’s Journal hits my mailbox. They don’t see me smiling as I read the latest from Traditional Rod & Kulture. And they certainly don’t see me struggling to create my own print version of The Jalopy Journal. "
