Plum and others I am trying to help a friend and am looking for photos of a '65 Falcon named "King Tut". Any help would be appreciated. I understand the car was and is now owned by a fellow named Neal Ford. I will add further information as I receive it.

    Thanks

  17. I'm still looking for pics of 2 gassers. First one is a yellow Falcon with a Mopar 426 Wedge named "Lemon Wedge" that I'm pretty sure ran on the east coast, and a 67 Barracuda with a straight axle, painted black, named "Mister X". I have current pics of Mister X, but I'd love to see a pic of it in its glory days out on the strip.

Muttley the Speedmasters AA/FD on page 266 is the Nightmayer owned and driven by the late Bob Mayer. The rail ran a 354 Hemi and was the first car to do 200mph in Australia. Mayer was match racing Bill Demerest in his Groundshaker AA/FD at the Castlereagh Strip in Sydney Australia during mid 1966.

    XDRAG NEWS:

I was living in CA. when Shoe ran that car. As far as I know it never made it to the west coast.

When I came back east Shoe already had differnt cars.

How many did you know that Dave Beebe drove for Ray Alley?

Look at the red Mustang, it says Dave Beebe.

    Never knew he drove it.

Ray Alley was a very nice man. I was an 18 year old when I saw him at Irwindale in 1976 with his rocket car. It was one of those events where all the pro-classes were there. Thier performances were drawfed by his 4 second/300 runs. Later as he loaded the rocket car on an old open trialer, he asked if me and my buddy had a good time. Relying on my high school level of chemistry,I tried to ask an intelligent question about how the motor worked. He then went about offering a very detailed, but patient explanation. As we parted, he concluded by noting how important a good eductation was if one wanted to race.

At one of those MFG. MEETS at Orange County he crash his Duster. After the crash & knew he was alright he went up to tower and annouce over the P.A. that he was sorry for holding up the show. Now that took class.

Its sad scaning all these photos as I use to hang out with most of the racers at the races & go eat somewhere.

Just seeing how many that are gone now.

    RIP to all.
