The Jalopy Journal
Man, I have some hairpins. Maybe I should see if I can mount those up. I think those are A bones on there now. Correction: I think those are...
Sorry for the extremely late response. I think it's a 70's catalog axle. It had batwings that were stamped PSI. It may be original, but the guy...
38.5". I should have remembered since I had to get a 33.5" spring.
Yeah, I wouldn't trust the blind arms. If I can't see the bolt, I won't install it.
Not home right now, but I'm also sure the perches are 2.25".
Sorry if this was already covered, but who made that dash panel? I need one for mine.
They appear to be forged so I doubt it's a problem. I just hate to do it.
I'm not planning to use them, but I have some hairpins and batwings kicking around. When I mocked them up, it appeared those arms would hit....
[ATTACH] [ATTACH] So this is what I have going. As far as I can tell, the wishbones were set up for the 3" drop axle. My chassis is 2x4 box...
They're designed to be used with hairpins. I had knuckle clearance problems with a pair of hoop-style arms, and these alleviated that. I believe...
So I mounted up my Model A split bones, and the right steering arm is hitting at the draglink knuckle. I am trying to run the steering shaft...
I had planned to re-attach it. While it would be out of balance, that section is paper thin compared to the rest.
Here's a pic. I extracted it with a puller, but there's certainly a chance someone tried to pry it.
I was reinstalling a '42 Ford banjo rear hub yesterday, and a piece of the outer lip broke off (from drum). I'm not sure why...maybe it had been...
So I'm prepping this '42 banjo hub for paint, and am picking out what appears to be an old seal. Was there supposed to be a seal behind the nut?
I need four of these for the front brake shoes. Does anyone have a source? I assume they're called a cam insert or something, but am not having...
Thanks!
Anyone know the approximate year of this banjo axle? I need to order some brake shoes, and want to see if Napa can get them.
I like the tall (40's style?) stance a lot, but it may be too tall. I will see once everything is mocked up.
That's how the frame was set up. I cut off the gussets, and have to redo them on the top. That arrangement scared me a bit.
I like the idea, too. Unfortunately, I know nothing about them. Maybe I should buy a Haynes manual for a Pinto.
I'm new to doing build threads, but this is my T Roadster project. It is a solid Henry steel on a homemade frame. I bought it as a basket case,...
Looks like a nice, clean start. Stoked to see it come together.
I actually tried the ones from Eckler's, and they don't fit. I'm not sure it's the same size sleeve as early Ford. Edit: I think I can make...
Does anyone have a part number for clamps that fit an 11/16 tie rod end? I figured these would be easy to find, but they have eluded me.
That car is amazing. I remember seeing pics of it years ago. The rear trailing arm mounts scare me a bit, though.
I bought the P&J/CE arms. I think the only catalog items I'm using are the spindles. The drop axle is believed to be 70's era, and at least as...
Split Model A.
These things are definitely cheap crap. I was planning to buy Super Bell arms, but I'm leaning towards the P&J now.
I think these will fit: https://www.yogisinc.com/YPJ-1108M
