Jimini, thanks for the mention of my banger book! Believe it or don't, I have sold over 1600 books, to places you wouldn't even believe. One...
I have run a B block, C crank (drilled for pressure) for many years, on the 1/4 mile and the salt. I turn it consistently 6,000+ RPM, for a long...
That's the first I've heard about Joe using patterns by John Gerber, but it wouldn't surprise me. Joe did use the Morales, Rutherford and...
That is a stagger-valve, made from something that I can't remember. Seems it was a foreign engine of some kind. He did build his own 16-valve...
jim1932, I've never seen any re-pop iron heads until very recently, by Tod. Yours might have gone out the back door of Winfirld's shop???
Winfield heads were stamped on the boss between #1 and #3 plug, yours is not stamped. The first number indicated the compression ratio, the rest...
The marking of early Winfield cams is unknown to me but in a roadster you may like to have a hot cam? You need the duration and lift to determine...
No, Winfield carbs are drilled for either updraft or downdraft, the difference is where the holes are drilled. Look on your fuel bowl, it will be...
I don't think (?) mine has the cast-in number but the size (BB on mine) is stamped in. All different size carbs had a different spread on the...
I ran such a manifold for many years. I didn't have a BB carb so made a tapered adapter and ran a S-C-D carb. It worked great, had good power,...

Do you know when the Winfield Weekends started? Dan and I went on several but missed the first of them. Also do know of where the tapes of those...

F.A.S.T. magazine has just published the first of a series on Ed and Bud Winfield, promises to be the best record of them ever published....
Midnight Oil first ran with my Cook in it, followed by Vic's single-stick Sparks with a GMC blower on the front. A Pontiac Tempest, a 2-port...
The first number in the serial number is the compression ratio, the rest is the serial number. 6:1 heads were made in both "standard" and...
Thanks 62 pan, On here I go by 4-port Riley, but I don't go on every day.
do you have one of my banger books? [email protected] if interested.
I can handle the penicillin, the V8 not so well! :-)
interesting! of course you know that there were only four Fargo's made, 2 more in the last few years.
you can leave the driven gear off if you want.
very nice, thanks for sharing!
the 81 is bigger and better than the stock carb, but if you are going to race, it is not enough. i run three 81's on my cyclone flathead.
i've had a lot of experience on hydros, mostly later ones, '54-'62. yes '62, gmc ran them that late. it sure sounds like a washer is missing...
stock jets for the 81 is .035 main and 71 power valve. 2 carbs is not too many, i run 3 on my 208 cubic inch model b engine, and it runs great
and that's a really good price. model A and V8 are slightly different, V8 being larger and having a straddle bearing inside. model A's built for...
plus if truly a '65, it should be a 354, not 331. i'm not sure about canadian engines
