The Thomson pic must be 1955 or before. USAC TOOK over from AAA in 1956, and roll bars were a rule. No roll bar, no raqce!!!

Al; In the late 50s and early 60s a few races were runj as USAC-URC co-sanctions due to car counts.
That pic was taken at a USAC SPRINT show at Reading. They ran there about twice a year back then.
