The Jalopy Journal
Shazam! The truck is really coming together nicely. I think that might be a good heigth for an old geezer like me to be able to step into? :D
Green, that might have been some tedious shit, but what a fabulous finished product! I am impressed!
Well I'll be damned if I don't learn something new every day!! You sure had me wondering.
Glad to see you have it up and running! It has to be a great feeling to actually get behind the wheel and put it down the street! I have to ask...
It has been said before by others, but maybe it won't hurt to repeat it that the doors from all the 55-59 trucks are the same (except for COE)....
The door work is for sure a pain in the ass, but you will get it right! Not much on these old trucks seems to come easy... keep up the good work!
Looking good, but where did all the wires go!!
Thanks for the steering adjustment link, that's something that a lot of guys don't know about. A local buddy thought he just HAD to have power...

Wow! I really like the way you have temporarily braced everything. This is going to be rock solid when you are all finished! Keep up the great work.
Glad to see you "weathered the storm" and all is well. I agree that the all white dash scheme would look better. I also like the two-tone...
Weld-through primer is some great stuff, or so I am told. No personal experience with it yet, but that is what I plan to use on the patch panels...
Looks good Terd! I may have to do something similar.
That's a lot of spot welds to cut for sure! Having the cab off like that looks like the way to go.
I don't doubt that cutting out the "coupon" and swapping it may be seen as shady by some folks, but I thought it would not be much of an issue if...
What a great build thread you have here! I came across it tonight and started reading, but had to quit at page 19. I will pick it up again...
This why I went with glass fenders for mine! Right click to open image. [IMG]
I have to say that I have never seen a tray like this before! I wonder how many were actually used?
