Glad to see you back at it Scooter. I've been away myself, only had time to check subscriptions from time to time. Glad to see your thread on the...
My quickie attempt. I'm sure someone will be along with some real skills to put this to shame shortly! [img]
Sweet! I'm happy to see this one moving along again!
Those gaps look sweet. Keep it up, it's the little details that make the finished product.
I've done a few. A couple 50's jag radiators, one or two from 30's chevys, and some quick repairs on others. Only trouble I've really had is, on...
Looks good! Did you form the top pockets before or after tipping the flange?
I was trying to suggest a better method to achieve the desired results. A method that doesn't require 37 welds (yes I counted), and less filler....
You've obviously never done it. It's the fucking SUCK. Also, not to shit on your tech, but you could have made it from one piece pretty easily...
Holy crap, I don't know how I missed this before. I just read the whole thread. This car is spot on, well played sir!
Cool! I remember when you started working on the truck, good to see it all done.
Looking good. I know first hand (unfortunately) how much work it is to sand the inside of a truck box. What a PITA.
David, the welds on the cowl look as though you may have gone back and heated portions of the weld. Was this done to give you a more even HAZ,...

Looking good!
Shrinking disks are your friend... and practice. You're work is excellent.
Awww hell. I was reading the responses thinking, "Give me a break, you guys are crying... Really?" Now, here I am, sitting here with my eyes all...
I was planning on heading out there, but had my kids all day and didn't get around early enough, so we just hit the Cops and Rodders show.
Buffing wheel and compound. Clean and polish all at once! :D This piece was all hazy and gross (along with all the rest of the trim), a little...
That pic is from one of Skoty's threads... there is a video showing that it is NOT stitch welded. He runs a continuous weld, he just moves back...
Ok... someone's gotta ask it, What the hell is going on with the tape wrapped around the stud gun nails?
Why?
Sorry to hear that John. I'll be thinking of you. Let me know if you need a hand with anything.
Well, if EVERYTHING else is equal (timing, airflow, fuel mixture, etc) then there would be NO difference. The engine doesn't care how the fuel...
Very nice work. Any plans to paint the motor?
Yeah, sorry I was talking about the door sections. The section under the wind shield and the section around the back has studs all the way around....
