building a similar truck and in Iowa....I'll keep an eye out if they make it towards Davenport.
Well that sure doesn't agree with 90% of the information you can find on the net and my personal findings. Using a larger bag to get the same...
In a stock Mustang it isn't bags, but the springs are mounted on the lower arms. The uppers and lowers are shorter than in my setup since they...
The ride is always better on the lower bars and much less bouncy, that is why so many setups are going to that. It takes less pressure in the bag...
If I go panhard rod it would be as long as possible and parallel to the rearend at ride height. Hopefully the rearend wouldnt move too much with...
Well I'm glad the pictures help get my point across. Unfortunately the upper links I can only get to about 60* by shortening them a lot. They...
Here are some fresh pictures. Forget about the 10" of travel that has nothing to do with it. At ride height as pictured the upper bars need to...
I think I am going to have to post some pics of what is actually there and why it wont work because either I am not coming across clearly or some...
I will build it all with the round bars and once its done and all adjusted for wheelbase I will use the final length of the lowers to make square...
Well it is the way they are done often but your point is well taken. Instead of an under bar gusset maybe a set of 2"x2" square lower bars that...
Its along the same design as the Mustang stuff....tons of tubular lower bars out there for them and they have the spring on them from the factory....
They are 1/4" DOM tubing 1.5" diameter. The under bar gussets will be full length and are cut from 1/4" plate.
Tinman, Bags on the lower bars are very common with these setups. Pretty much makes it like a Mustang with the springs on the lower control arms...
I appreciate you trying to help but have you read any of the issues I am having? I assume you were trying to post this:...
By the way thanks for the pic, I like the way you attached the front lower bars to the frame.
Laidout the issue with that is that I don't have room to build a piece across the rearend for me to mount anything to because it will go higher...
dude I said I am not worried about the bags because I have that part all sorted out. I have the bags, have figured the amount of lift per their...
I'm not worried about the bags right now. The upper mounts will be gusseted and will have a bent bar running across from one upper mount to the...
The bars will have full lower gussets...is there another reason that putting the bags on the bars is a bad idea? Better ride, better lift are my...
I'm with you guys here. I also see how triangulated the lowers would have helped my problem except I plan on having the bags on the lower bars....
There is nowhere near enough room because of the narrow frame width to put the bars near the center of the rearend. There is only a few inches of...
Yeah the plan is for the bars to be about 70% as long as the lower bars, which are 25" so the tops will probably be around 17" long but that...
Hey guys. I have been beating my head against the wall trying to get my 4-bar setup to be at least half-ass correct in my 59 GMC. I read, read,...
Awesome pics! It amazes me how much the dragstrip looks just like I remember it looking when I first started going in the mid 80's
Now THAT is talent!
I don't post on this site nearly as much as some others, but I try and stop by at least weekly and catch up on some threads. That said, I was a...
Like I said I don't have a stock seat. The truck is heavily modified anyway and not super hamb-friendly....just looking for good ideas for...
I don't have the stock seat....it didn't come with it. I would like to put something in there that has good lumbar support, or that i can add...
Hey guys...just looking for some ideas on a decent looking seat that doesn't look out of place, but will also be comfortable enough for the long...
looks like a garage - beer night tonight, if any eyeball guys come into town feel free to stop by and have a beer.....or ten. As mentioned...
